Diamond eggplant


Solanum melongela. A Ukranian variety introduced to the United States in the early 1990’s. Diamond has dark purple-black, shiny, petite globe type fruits that are just the right amount for a stir fry. Flesh is light green and rarely bitter, especially if harvested when skin is at peak blackness. Great flavor and creamy texture. Short season variety. 70 days.
