Ice cream melon

Cucumis melo. This compact vine is great for home gardens where space is a limiting factor. Highly productive over several weeks in late summer, these petite green-fleshed muskmelons are the perfect size for cutting open and eating with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. They lack the muskiness characteristic of orange muskmelons and have a delightfully sweet flavor. Melons slip off the vine when ripe. 75-80 days.
